Searows' sophomore studio album, Death in the Business of Whaling released 23 January 2026. Preceded by lead single 'Dearly Missed' on 2 October 2025 and subsequent singles 'Photograph of a Cyclone', 'Dirt' and 'In Violet', the album features nine tracks and runs just over 42 minutes long. Arriving nearly three and a half years after Searows' debut album Guard Dog, Business of Whaling marks the first time Alec Duckart, the 25-year-old musician behind the name Searows, was not featured as the sole producer of his music. Recorded at Trevor Spencer's studio outside of Seattle, Washington, Duckart's sophomore record features drums, banjo, harmonica and a plethora of other sounds that stand in stark contrast to his melancholic and quiet debut.
