The idea has been lingering in his head for fair a bit of time, however Kevin Imbrechts has been modelling the ambient of Illuminine initially in silence. Initially confined within the solitude of his bedroom walls, it wasn't until Christophe Vandewoude (Isbells, Pilod) threw a helping hand as producer that they started recording in the studios of Muziekcentrum Het Depot in Leuven.
Kevin continued to work isolated, barring all external influences, with the idea of forging his melancholic sound palette into an album. During August 2014, he added the final touches on Illuminine‘s debut album under the watchful eye of Birgir Jón Birgisson, the sound engineer of Sigur Rós, in his home studio Sundlaugin Studio in Iceland.
Defining Illuminine isn't an easy exercise. Bearing resemblances to both Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, A Winged Victory For The Sullen, and Dustin O'Halloran, Illuminine will sound unique and familiar at the same time.
Illuminine’s debut album is due to release February 16th Zealrecords. Read more on Last.fm.
